Celebrating Creativity: The Art and Story of Jerry Zhou

At LifeClues, we believe strong communities are built through inclusion and opportunity. We are proud to engage with local events that celebrate creativity and showcase the talents of artists with autism and other disabilities.

Jerry Zhou is a 23-year-old autistic artist who came to Canada with his family at the age of five and was diagnosed with autism at seven. Often immersed in his own world, Jerry discovered at a young age that drawing could become his bridge to expression.

At the age of nine, Jerry began studying art with a teacher. As he realized that pen and paper could help him recreate the things he loved, he started to capture the people, objects, and scenes around him-using color, shape, and imagination to express feelings that words could not always say.

For Jerry, drawing is a calm and meaningful space. It allows him to think, imagine, and communicate from within his own world. Over time, his interests grew, and more subjects and scenery began to appear in his work, offering others a glimpse into the richness of his inner life.

In March 2022. Jerry held his solo exhibition, My Fantasy World, at the Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Society, where his work was warmly received by visitors. He has also participated in art exhibitions hosted by Canada Hands and Feet of All Abilities Foundation in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
