Zearalenone
Colloidal Gold · Food Safety · ZEA
"Zearalenone is a mycotoxin belonging to the group of Fusarium toxins, primarily produced by Fusarium graminearum and Fusarium culmorum fungi. It contaminates various cereal grains, including wheat, barley, and corn, posing risks to both human and animal health. Livestock consuming feed contaminated with zearalenone may excrete it in milk and dairy products."

ZEA
Zearalenone (ZEA) Rapid Test Kit is an immunochromatographic assay adopting lateral flow technology and is designed for the qualitative detection of zearalenone (ZEA) in grains, cooking oil, cereals, animal feeds at or above the cutoff level of 10-200 ppb (μg/kg).
Ultra Sensitive
Detect target molecules at ultra-low concentrations using colloidal gold nanoparticles.
High Specificity
Engineered for precise interactions, our assays minimize false positives for accurate diagnostics.
Instant Reaction
With rapid colorimetric response, results are delivered swiftly, enabling prompt interventions.
Zearalenone (ZEA) SUMMARY
Zearalenone (ZEA), also known as F-2 mycotoxin, is primarily produced by fusarium strains. Its components are 2,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid compounds produced by fusarium graminearum and fusarium flavus.
Exposure to zearalenone through contaminated food and feed can have adverse health effects. In animals, zearalenone toxicity can lead to reproductive issues such as reduced fertility, abnormal estrous cycles, and even miscarriages. In humans, zearalenone exposure has been associated with hormonal imbalances, particularly in estrogen-sensitive populations such as pregnant women and infants.
Vomitoxin is commonly found from grain seeds such as wheat, barley and corn.
Zearalenone (ZEA) PRINCIPLES
Antibody-Colloidal Gold Conjugate
Zearalenone-BSA conjugate antigen and goat anti mouse IgG are coated and immobilized on a reaction membrane
Bioartron Zearalenone (ZEA) Rapid Test kit contains mouse monoclonal anti-zeralenone antibody-colloidal gold conjugate pre-dried in the microwell. Zearalenone-BSA conjugate antigen (on test zone) and goat anti mouse IgG (on control region) are coated and immobilized on a reaction membrane.
The principal of Bioartron Zearalenone (ZEA) Rapid Test is a solid phase, competitive inhibition immuno-chromatographic assay, in which ZEA-BSA competes with ZEA that may be present in sample extraction solution, for limited antibody binding sites. When the absorbent pad (sample end) is soaked with the solution, the solution will migrate via capillary action toward the test window where the test reaction occurs.
